TE EXTC A

Phase 1
Control of Appliances with HAPTICS
In this phase we will make a Haptics wearable
system which will send signals to a microntroller
board (arduino) and control a particular appliance

The Haptics wearable will be made of pressure

sensitive , resistive transducers

Thus by a simple touch , it will send the required

signal and control the appliance

Requirements

Microcontroller (Arduino Uno)

Force Sensitive Resistors
acting as switches
ZigBee Module / any preffered
communication protocol [Optional]

PHASE 2
INTER-NETWORKING OF APPLIANCES

All the appliances will be connected to this common network

which will be wired or preferably wireless

In order to connect wirelessly we will be using Zigbee or WiFi protocols

The devices will be controlled by the HAPTICS controlling

device previously mentioned

An alternative for controlling the devices is a mobile

application which will access an HTML page and through
that page it will control the appliances

PHASE 2

Requirements
All the components from Phase 1
In addition
ENJC680 Serial to Ethernet Converter
Router (Preferably WIFI)
LAN Cable

SCALABILITY!

HOW ?

Switches/appliances could be controlled

from anywhere around the world if PUBLIC
IP is assigned
and Tunneling Techniques are implemented.
Feedback and Data acquisition elements
can be added to give continous information
about the status of appliances
Intelligent programming can be done !

Versatile Range of
Applications !
Lights and appliances (direct, power line or wireless)
TV, VCR, DVD, Tivo (IR)
Monitor weather
Temperature
Thermostats
