1945
No more Japanese in Korea
Now Soviet troops are in the north and US
troops in the south

1948
DPRK was created and soviet troops left
North Korea (democratic peoples republic
of Korea)
The founder is Kim Il-Sung

1950 - 1953
Korean War

1994
Death of Kim Il-Sung
Kim Jong-Il takes over North Korean power.

1998
Korea tests its first multistage long-range
missile.

2000
Inter Korean Summit takes place opening up
the border office and communication
between the two countries.

2002
George W. Bush declares North Korea as
well as Iraq and Iran an Axis of Evil for
continuing to create their own weapons of
mass destruction.

2003
North Korea is no longer apart of the
Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty so they
can continue to make nuclear weapons.

2006
First underground nuclear tests took place

2011
Kim Jong-Il dies
Kim Jong-Un takes over
