Cte Mentor Program 2014
Cte Mentor Program 2014
In order to support the school-based goal of decreasing our overall retention rate, a group of four
CTE teachers mentored students at risk for retention with the development and implementation of
a collaborative three part plan to introduce these students to the CTE programs offered at Salem
High School.
Teachers responsible:
Sarah Gerrol
Jeffery Shupe
Debbie Stratton
Michael Toney
Process:
We obtained list from the guidance department of students at risk for retention.
We made a website to house the forms, PowerPoint, surveys, etc. needed for CTE
Mentor Program
The CTE Department Website: ctesalem.weebly.com
o ctesalem.weebly.com
We met with 15 students and gave 14 surveys (CTE Form 1 and CTE Form 2)
We described the CTE departments at SHS to the students.
We addressed any interests the students had about the CTE areas, offered and gave
tours of the programs.
Summary:
As evidenced by survey results, we not only met but surpassed the goal to bring
about awareness of the CTE programs to get at risk students connected at Salem
High School.
