By becoming a member of NSTA, I realize that it is important to be a member of the
profession and I am following my duties as an educator to become a member of my profession.
2. Discuss how these key points connect to your content area.
NSTA is my national association. This is where I will find up to date national standards,
lesson plans, new strategies to teach science, journals, bimonthly newspaper, access to online
services, discounts on various things such as: books and teaching resources, SciGuides,
development programs, automobile, health, liability and life insurance. All or most of these
things will be helpful in my content area.
3. Share how you might use this new information in your future classroom
I could use the discounts so that I could buy class sets of books and teaching resources. I
could also use the lesson plans that are on this website that are STEM directed. I could also use
the forums on this website to better myself as a teacher.
