Social Structure: Mohenjodaro built


their village on 2 platforms, one higher
and one lower than the other. They
built a higher platform so just in case
peace is disturbed, they can go the
higher platform and get safety. The
lower platform was for workshops,
houses that were made out of mud
Stable Food supply: The Mohenjodaro
people had a stable food supply
because when archeologists dug, they
found bit of grain like barley and
wheat. Workers might have crushed
the grain with rocks and created flour.
They might have used this flour to
trade with other nearby cities for their
Technology: The Mohenjodaro people
had technology because a great
feature in Mohenjodaro is the Great
baths. The pool was built with
waterproof bricks. Several rooms
connected to the pool. One room
contained a well with a fresh supply of
water. Another room was to filter out
Art: Like Indians today, the
Mohenjodaro people loved to create
art. They created Necklaces, statues,
and other forms of art. Archeologists
say that beads have been found all
over the Mohenjodaro territory.
Writing: Like the way the Egyptians
used pictographs for writing, so did the
Mohenjodaro people. Pictographs show
a scene in picture form. These
pictographs were called seals. They
tell a story for each multiple seals.
Religion: Firstly, in a strict sense there
was no Hinduism before modern times,
although the sources of Hindu
traditions are very ancient. Secondly,
Hinduism is not a single religion
but embraces many traditions.
Government: Mohenjodaro used
democracy, which means everyone is
sharing power.
