INT-EXT.DODA TOWN.AFTERNOON
Doda town is in view or some houses and some other objects
showing the effect of the wind blowing gently. Leaves
falling and flying-Trees swaying. Birds in sky. Some
people are walking by. Clouds are covering the sky and
slowly drifting apart to let the sun shine on Doda town. A
bright, sunny day eventually. Kazim can be seen on bike
going fast. He stops outside a house and hurriedly
approaches the bell. Vehicles can be seen on the road and
some animals too-The camera zooms-in into one of the rooms of a house and
shows Rizwan watching TV (news). The bell RINGS. Rizwan is
having tea. The room is well furnished and has a
detective-type look to it-Outside the door Kazim rings the bell once again looking
puzzled. A car passes by. The door opens and Sheeran
welcomes Kazim in. They talk for some time and then
Sheeran points towards Rizwans room and Kazim approaches
it. Sheeran goes to another room.

INT.RIZWANS ROOM.CONTINUED
Kazim walks towards Rizwans room and knocks. Rizwan calls
him in and the already confused and puzzled Kazim tastes
more of it and asks for all the answers as to how Rizwan
knows so much about him already even before he walks into
his room. Rizwan sits back in his chair quite comfortably
and uncovers the mystery for Kazim. Kazim is eager to
listen and is all ears. A car and a bike pass by the road.
RIZWAN
(putting his cup down
on the table)
Come in Kazim.

KAZIM
(comes inside the room)
How do you know it was me?

RIZWAN
(points towards a chair
for Kazim to sit)
Your style of Knocking is
unique. By the way you are
confused and probably in
trouble and the trouble is
grave one. Now tell me why
you came here in such a
hurry. Tell me what is the
problem

KAZIM
(takes a seat)
First of all you tell me
how do you know that I came
here in hurry and I am in
trouble?

RIZWAN
I think you can make it out
yourself.

KAZIM
No, I am already confused
so dont puzzle my mind.

EXT.ROAD.AFTERNOON
Kazim rushes out of his home and gets on his bike quickly
looking in trouble. Starts the bike and rides down the
road with incredible velocity. Some people are hanging
around and cars and bikes are to be seen on the road.
Shops are open and people are buying themselves a
souvenir. Kazim takes a right turn still going fast. His
hair curves backwards as he goes on and he starts to look
awkward. Kazim stops the bike outside a house and forgets
to take out the key and moves towards the door and rings
the bell.
RIZWAN (V.O)
(with a tone of surety)
You came here on bike. I heard
the sound of a bike which stopped
in front of this house. I knew
someone was coming but the news
was so shocking that it took my
attention away from the bell. So,
you knocked at my door. I know
your style of knocking and
surprised you by calling you in
by your name.

INT-EXT.RIZWANS ROOM.AFTERNOON
Kazim goes on asking questions and Rizwan confidently
answers each of them. Rizwan hands him a mirror to take a
look at his hair. Kazim takes a look in the mirror and
laughs. Kazim searches his pockets for the key but finds
none-Bike stops in front of the house and Kazim gets down but
forgets to collect the key and rings the bell.
KAZIM
(surprised and eager to
find the answers)
And how do you know that I
came here in hurry and that
I am confused?

RIZWAN
(smiling and searching
the mirror)
By your hair I deduced that
you came here in hurry.

KAZIM
(surprised)
By my hair!

RIZWAN
(handing the mirror to
Kazim)
Yes, take a look. I dont
think you like them in this
manner.

Kazim looks in the mirror and laughs.

RIZWAN
(with a sense of humor)
Yes, you have rode so fast
that you have lost your
famous hairstyle.

KAZIM
(puts down the mirror)
But what about my confused
mind and that the trouble
is grave?

RIZWAN
I think that a bike works
with a key and I also know
that your pockets have no
key in them.
Kazim searches his pockets for keys but finds none.
RIZWAN
My dear friend you left it with
the bike most probably and that
gave me the idea that you are
confused. It can turn wrong
sometimes but you have already
said that you are confused.
Therefore I was not mistaken.

INT.RIZWANS ROOM.CONTINUED
Kazim asks another question and Rizwan again gives him a
surprisingly simple answer. And in the end Kazim leans
back due to the simplicity of the answers that he was
searching for. Kazim again leans forward to talk about the
real problem for which he is here and starts to explain
the whole situation. Rizwan is keen to listen to Kazims
story.
KAZIM
(continued from the
previous)
And the trouble you said it
is serious.

RIZWAN
(leans back in his
chair at the end of
the comment)
Yes, it is very serious
because you may have used
your phone to contact me
but you didnt because the
problem is serious and so
you are here to talk to me
face to face. How was it my
dear friend?

KAZIM
(leaning back in his
chair)
It was absurdly simple.

RIZWAN
Everything seems simple
once it is explained.

You are right but I am here
to talk to you about a very
serious problem.

RIZWAN
I know that from the
beginning but tell me what
the problem is?

KAZIM
The problem as you said is
very serious one. You know
my son very well, dont
you?

RIZWAN
Yes, I know him very well.
He is steadfast and firm
and that he is not fond of
school.

KAZIM
I am afraid he will not
return.

RIZWAN
From where?

KAZIM
Let me explain the whole
situation to you.

INT-EXT.KAZIMS HOUSE.MORNING
Kazim is telling Akbar to get ready for school but he is
refusing. Kazim tries to get him read for school gently
and kindly at first but as Akbar aint listening to leave
at all he loses his temper and forces him to get ready for
school. Kazim brings a good stick from outside and
thrashes him severely and prepares him for school. As
Kazim swings his stick in the air it hits a glass and
shatters it onto the floor. Akbar gets very angry, his
eyes becomes red. Finally Akbar leaves for school on foot
angrily and his father watches him over for a little
distance and then walks into the house. Akbar looks back
after Kazim is gone and the camera swaps back into
Rizwans room for the next scene.
KAZIM (O.S)
(narrates the story as the
screen shows his story)
As you said he hated school and
dont want to go there. So, today
also he declared that he will not
go to school and this made me
lose my temper. So,to make him go
to school I brought a good stick
and thrashed him severely. So, I
prepared him for school. There
was anger in his eyes. So angry

INT.RIZWANS ROOM.AFTERNOON-CONTINUED
Rizwan interrupts Kazim and asks him some questions
regarding the mystery and that why does he thinks that his
son will not return. Kazim takes out a piece of paper from
his pocket and hands it to Rizwan. Rizwan unfolds the
crumpled paper and scrutinizes it with a magnifying lens.
He reads it and then asks a series of questions. In the
end Rizwan tells Kazim that he will leave no stone
unturned to find his missing son. They walk out of the
room and Rizwan opens the door for him to go. Kazim walks
out light hearted, starts his bike and goes. Rizwan
watches him go and takes a look around and then walks back
into his house and sits on a rocking chair for sometime
thinking deeply with his eyes closed and his legs folded
to his chin.
RIZWAN
(now sounding more like
a detective)
So, you obviously informed
the police about your sons
disappearance.

KAZIM
No, I came straight up to
you because I dont want
any officials to work it
out.

RIZWAN
Why do you think he will
not return?

KAZIM
(takes out a piece of
paper from his pocket)
Thats why I think he will
not return.

RIZWAN
(unfolds the piece of paper
and reads it)
"I WILL NOT RETURN SEARCHING IT
IS USELESS"
RIZWAN
(gesturing towards the
paper in his hand)
Where did you find this?

KAZIM
Outside the door.

RIZWAN
What was the time when you
discovered this?

KAZIM
It was nearly 11 Oclock.

Rizwan checks the clock that is hanging from the wall with
its pendulum swinging. It is half past three.
RIZWAN
(pointing towards the
piece of paper in his
hand)
Are you sure this is his
writing?

KAZIM
Quite sure.

RIZWAN
Was he late for school
today?

KAZIM
I think he was. He left
from home at 7:50 and he
doesnt uses the bus.

RIZWAN
And his school is in NAGRI,
which is a mile off from
your home?

KAZIM
Yes, thats right.

RIZWAN
Where do you think he may
have gone?

KAZIM
(shooking his head)
I dont know.

RIZWAN
(gets up from his
chair)
OK, I will leave no stone
unturned to find your son.

KAZIM
(shaking hands with
Rizwan)
Thanks very much.

RIZWAN
(walks towards the door and
opens it for Kazim to leave)
Go home and dont worry.
Rizwan watches him go and takes a look around and then
walks back into his house and sits on a rocking chair for
sometime thinking deeply with his eyes closed and his legs
folded to his chin.

EXT.ROAD-WOODS.AFTERNOON
Rizwan comes out of his home adjusting his tie. He
approaches his bike and starts it and moves on. He stops
at a place where a shortcut path splits through the main
road towards the school. He parks his bike neatly and
takes the shortcut path which runs through the woods. It
is a tranquil place and many a lot of persons dont go
through this path. Rizwan walks on and on stopping now and
then and scrutinizing the ground for footprints and other
clues. He uses a magnifying lens. He finds a bag hanging
from a tree. He climbs the tree and grabs the bag. He sees
a notebook from there lying down in the bushes. Rizwan
checks all the notebooks and compares the writing with
that on the note that Akbar has left behind. The writing
is identical. Rizwan also finds a notebook with its last
page half torn and when he places the piece of paper he
has by its side it completes the page perfectly. He is
convinced that the note has been written by Akbar. He
darts his eyes over the trees in search of more.
MONTAGE OF RIZWANS HUNT FOR CLUES

-Searches some bushes and behind some trees for clues
-Finds a bag hanging from a branch of a tree
-Climbs the tree and opens the bag to check the books and
notebooks
END OF MONTAGE
RIZWAN
(Comments along as he hunts
down clues to find Akbar)
Where could he have gone?
RIZWAN
(On seeing the bag hanging
from the branch of the tree)
What is it?
RIZWAN
(On finding the writing
similar)
So, he has written the note
himself or was he forced to write
it?
RIZWAN
(whispers to himself)
But where is he?

8.

EXT.WOODS.CONTINUED
Rizwan searches around the woods and at the top of a very
huge tree finds out some beds fitted neatly. They were
quite well hidden from the viewers eye. Rizwan climbs up
the tree slowly and when he reaches the top he finds some
gems and money and other valuable items there. On one of
the beds to his great surprise he finds a boy lying face
down. Rizwan turns him around and then sprinkles some
water on his face to make him conscious. The boy opens his
eyes and starts yelling ridiculous things. Rizwan comforts
him and asks him his story. OMAR replies quickly and they
both hurry down the tree to save Akbar.
RIZWAN
(on seeing Omar lying down
unconscious)
Hullo!
Rizwan sprinkles some water on Omars face and he comes to
life.
OMAR
(horrified and moving
away)
Dont kill me, dont, No,
no ...

RIZWAN
I am not going to kill you

OMAR
Then what, are you going to
starve me to death?

RIZWAN
No, I am not going to do
anything like that. I am a
detective and I am trying
to find a missing boy.

OMAR
Are you really? I dont
believe you. It is just a
prank. You are one of them.

RIZWAN
What do you mean by one of
them?

OMAR
One of the man who tried to
kill me.

RIZWAN
(stiffly)
I have already told you
that I am not.

OMAR
Then where is Akbar?

RIZWAN
Akbar! Do you know him?
Where is he?

OMAR
They took him away with
themselves.

Where?

him.

RIZWAN
But why?

OMAR
(climbs down the tree
and wants Rizwan to do
the same)
It is a long story. Firstly
we must save his life
before it is too late. I
owe my life to him.

EXT.WOODS.CONTINUED
Rizwan and Omar climb down the tree and Omar shows him the
way where they had taken Akbar to kill. Both of them walk
together talking to each other. Suddenly both of them stop
and hide themselves behind some bushes/trees to listen to
the voices they have just heard.
RIZWAN
(dives down from the
last branch and faces
Omar)
Who are you?

OMAR
(leads the way like a
grown up)
My name is OMAR.

They both move alongside each other to find Akbar.

OMAR
I know the direction but not the
place. I heard them taking him
away. The last man brought down
his stick on my head with so much
force that I lay unconscious till
you woke me up. I am sorry for
what I said but I was very much
frightened.
Rizwan doesnt pays much heed to what Omar is saying as he
seem to be a talkative boy.
OMAR
What do you think they may
have done to him?

EXT.WOODS.CONTINUED
Rizwan and Omar are hiding behind some bushes/trees and
listening keenly to the voices from the other side of the
trees. Three men are talking to each other. One of them is
being innocent and the other one is very angry at him. The
third man watches silently. After they are finished
talking they all walk in the same direction to find Akbar
who is alleged to be badly hurt.
OMAR
(facing towards Rizwan as
they hide behind the trees)
Its them.
#1 MAN
(trying to be innocent)
What could I have done?

#2 MAN
(angrily)
Why did you let him go!

#1 MAN
He kicked me in face and
ran away.

#2 MAN
(almost loses his
temper)
You fool, you cant hold a
boy for one minute.

#1 MAN
I did my best, when I fell
down by his kick I picked a
stone and threw it at him.
It hit him in his head. I
think he would have died by
that super blow.

#2 MAN
(points his finger
wildly at the #1 MAN
and comes closer to
him)
You think so but if he is
alive we will be doomed.

#3 MAN
If he is alive he wouldnt have
gone far.
#1 MAN
Yes, because my stone has done
the work.
#2 MAN
Lets find him then.
The #1 MAN points towards a direction and all of them
follows it.

EXT.WOODS.CONTINUED
As all the three men walk away in search of Akbar, Rizwan
and Omar follow behind them stealthily. Suddenly Rizwan
stops and changes the course due to the blood he sees on
another path. They both move down that path along the
blood trail and reach Akbar who is lying on his back. His
head is strewn with blood and is completely unconscious.
Both Rizwan and Omar run towards him and call out his
name.
OMAR
(after the robbers
leave)
So, he has escaped. But
if he is alive, I mean if
it wasnt a deadly blow he
must have ran to his house.

RIZWAN
I think he may have fallen
somewhere unconscious.

Omar grabs Rizwan from his arm and pulls him. Rizwan seems
irritated but follows along with him.
OMAR
(pulls Rizwan from his arm)
Then what are we waiting for. We
must find him before they do.
Both of them follow those three men at a safe distance.
RIZWAN
They know that he has run in this
direction.
Omar nods to Rizwans comment. They walk on and suddenly
Rizwan changes the course and no more follows the robbers.
OMAR
(looks at Riwan in
bewilderment and speaks
in a low tone)
Why have you changed the
course?

RIZWAN
(points at the ground
to see the drops of
blood)
Look!

They follow the blood trail and reach Akbar who is lying
on his back.

Akbar closes his eyes and goes to sleep.
Rizwan and Omar are sitting outside the room on a bench

all that stuff belong to these
robbers. I tried to hide myself

honestly how I came to climb up
that tree. But they wont let me
go because they thought I will
spill the beans. They tried to
kill me. I started to scream
loudly for help. One of the man
was just lifting his knife to
finish me off when from nowhere
Akbar reached for his leg and
pulled him down. After falling
from branch to branch he
eventually fell to the ground. I
thought he died but I was
mistaken. He had just hurt his
leg, not so badly though. The
other man ran before Akbar. Akbar
wasnt so fast so he got
caught."WE WILL FINISH OFF HIM

reach the spot in no time and look around if the coast is
clear or not. Akbar is still in the clutches of that
strong man as the other two go to check the nearby areas
for clarity . Akbar himself being a strong and acrobatic
boy kicks the man in his face and runs away quickly. The
man being aware of his consequence grabs a good stone and
aims it at Akbars head. The stone hit Akbar right in his
head and immediately the blood spills out. Akbar still
runs on but feels weak and knows that he is going to fall
down unconsciously soon. That mans nose is also bleeding
and by the time he gets to his feet and starts to chase
Akbar the other two men arrive and are shocked to find the
man empty handed and bleeding. Akbar on the other end
changes his course and with blood still coming out of his
head falls down unconscious but quite well out of the
reach of the robbers. Akbar can be seen closing his eyes
before he opens them and is inside the hospital.
AKBAR (O.S.)

about to go to sleep. She is happy and smiling. Slowly she
closes her eyes and pulls up a blanket of clouds over her
and goes to sleep.

The moon also disappeared behind
the clouds and had a sound sleep.
The screen goes black again and "THE END" text cracks the
