EMC VNX FILE - CELERRA

SUMMARY
Download the co llect-perfdata.pl and co llect.pl scripts. Collect data by running the co llectperfdata.pl script first and then the co llect.pl script on the VNX File/Celerra control station. Compress
files into a sing le zip per system and submit to Mitrend for processing . Do not submit multiple files per
system.
I mpo rtant : Do not submit just the support materials or perfdata by itself. We require both results to
g enerate an assessment.

INSTRUCTIONS
1. Download both co llect-perfdata and co llect.pl scripts by clicking on the D o wnlo ad P erf
Script and D o wnlo ad Co llect Script buttons respectively.
2. Make sure you have access to the VNX File/Celerra control station.
3. Execute the co llect.pl script first on the VNX File/Celerra control station: perl co llectperfdata.pl
4. Wait for 48 hours for the script to complete. Leave your SSH window open during the time
(closing the SSH window terminates the script). Alternatively, you can run the script with: no hup
perl co llect-perfdata.pl
5. Execute the co llect.pl script, which collects performance data plus additional config uration data.
6. Submit the results of the co llect.pl script that are in the folder you specified in --o utputdir
Examples:
perl collect.pl -perfonly --outputdir /your_local_output_directory
perl collect.pl --basic --outputdir /your_local_output_directory
perl collect.pl --full --outputdir /your_local_output_directory
Collect types:
--perfonly : collect only performance data created by collect-perfdata.pl
--basic : collect performance data and CCC and ArrayConfig .XML
--full : collect full array config (perfdata, CCC, SPCollect, ArrayConfig , NASCheckup, SupportMats)
