Planning

attempttoanswerthequestion.
Phase3:GatherandDisplayDataGatherdatathatisrelatedtothe
hypothesessothattheycantesttheyhypotheses,mustcontain
controlledvariables.
Phase4:AssessHypothesesandGeneralizeTeacherguidesa
discussionoftheresultsandhowmuchtheysupportthehypotheses
andstudentsgeneralizeonresultsbasedontheassessments.

Motivation
Authenticationtaskrequiresunderstandingthatcan
beusedoutsideoftheclassroom,whichmotivates
studentsbecausetheywilluseitsomewhereelse.
Involvement&AutonomyMotivationincreases
whenstudentshaveachoice,whentheyareableto
choosetheirownroutessuchasproblemstochoose,
hypothesestogenerate,howtoinvestigate,and
report.

Thismodelisveryimportantwhenitcomestostudentslearningtheprocessesandtounderstandagreatwayforstudentstodevelopthe
criticalthinkingskillsinordertoaccomplishthesetasks.
