COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Leveraging Tools for Conducting Damage Assessments is an 8-hour instructor led,
performance-level course that will provide participants with the knowledge necessary to
more effectively conduct damage assessments. One of the keys to successful response and
recovery efforts is accurate and timely assessments of damages and needs. This training
emphasizes collaborative strategies for conducting multi-agency damage assessments,
lessons learned in data collection and analysis, and communication of findings to decision
makers. Participants will also engage in hands-on applications of both traditional
and emerging technologies in damage assessment.
PARTICIPANT CRITERIA:
Participants are those individual who have the potential for assignment by local
government to access damages following a disaster.
PERQUISITE:
None
SPONSORSHIP: This Course is sponsored by the Campbell County Office of Emergency
Management and the Kentucky Office of Homeland Security. Delivered by the National
Disaster Preparedness Center at the University of Hawaii. All training delivered by the
NDPTC is certified by DHS and offered tuition-free to the nations emergency response
community and associated stakeholders.
INSTRUCTIONS:
