The teacher understands and uses a variety of instructional

strategies to encourage learners to develop deep understanding of
content areas and their connections, and to build skills to apply
knowledge in meaningful ways.

Name of Artifact: Independent Project/ Identifying Reliable Websites Presentation

Date: November 29, 2014
Course: EDUC 201: Technology in Education
Brief Description: Created a PowerPoint presentation and student assessment
tool, which was about identifying reliable websites for research.
Rationale:
The teacher engages learners in using a range of learning skills and
technology tools to access, interpret, evaluate, and apply information. This
statement is stated under InTASC Standard Eight: Instructional Strategies, and is a
good summary of what I did in my PowerPoint. I designed and created a
PowerPoint presentation using Microsoft Office, which educated students on
reliable internet sources. Through the Technology in Education class, I learned
several new things about Microsoft Office software that can be helpful in the
education of my students. I used a variety of tools to make my presentation stand
out and engaging for my students. To enhance this PowerPoint and include
another instructional strategy, I added an assessment tool at the end of the
presentation to measure student learning performance. I used my knowledge on the
subject and also supported it with other sources, so that way the information
provided to the students is reliable and accurate.
