Seudent Services Nathanael Rowe 707.453.7300 Ext 106 Math Teacher Buckingham Charter High School To the Senior Portfolio Committee: I met Alex my first year as a teacher here at Buckingham. As a sophomore he was in my Geometry class while simultaneously taking an Algebra 2 course. It would be impressive to simply pass both of these courses at the same time, but Alex excelled in both earning an A+ in both classes. During this same year Alex started tutoring his peers after school in mathematics and continued to do so until his senior year. Alex has also earned several awards throughout his four years at Buckingham. Every year he has earned the High Honors Award, an award given to students who have maintained a 3.5 GPA or higher throughout the current school year. He also received a commendation his junior year for his performance in the National Spanish Exam. He scored in the 70 percentile nationwide, and hopes to have done even better this year in Spanish Ill. He's also received the President's Education Award in his sophomore and junior years of high school. ‘Alex has also been a member of the National Honor Society at Buckingham since its creation last school year. He has tried his best to not miss any meetings and contributes when members are able to give suggestions or opinions. He also assisted in last year’s service project of helping create decorations for Sober Grad Night. He cut out, drew, and colored large playing cards for the event.
