Overview & Purpose

TEKS: 1st 4th Grade

Students will travel independently in a large group while safely and quickly changing speed and
direction. They will also, demonstrate skills of chasing, fleeing, and dodging to avoid or catch others.

12 Second Down and Back
Setup:
Divide students into 2 two teams and position them in on the perimeter
and opposite sides of the game area.
Place 2 different colored bins with 6 matching colored flags each on
opposite sides of the game area.
Assign each team a color
Scatter 6 start positions in the game area for players to start on.
Rules:
Each team will place 6 players at the starting positions. Each player will
be use 1 flag and must keep their flag to continue playing.
At the whistle

40 Cones
Floor Tape
12 second timer
Class Seating
11 Lanes with 6 to 10 students
per lane
Each lane will sit behind the
start cone
