SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

Two awards ($1,500 each) are available for students accepted to or enrolled in an
accredited college, university, or vocational-technical program for the Fall 2015 semester.
Each scholarship will be awarded based on meeting the requirements below. Scholarship
award will be disbursed by October 1, 2015 pending maintained enrollment.

A Application deadline: June 1, 2015 / Recipients TBA at June 15, 2015 BCA Meeting

ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS MUST:

Reside within the District-recognized boundaries of Bloomingdale (see map)

AND/OR be a student or alumni of McKinley or Dunbar H.S.;
Have a 2.5 or above GPA for the most recently completed academic year; and,
Be accepted to or enrolled in an accredited college, university, or vocational-
technical program for the Fall 2015 semester.

**Applicants (or whose parent or guardian) who are members of the
Bloomingdale Civic Association at the time of application are eligible for
additional points on their application**

APPLICATION MUST INCLUDE:

Completed Application Cover Sheet (email BCAscholar@gmail.com for cover sheet);

Official school transcript(s) (high school and/or college, university or vocational-
technical as applicable);
Two letters of recommendation (preferably one from a teacher/counselor and one
from a non-relative, DC resident); and,
One 300-400 word response (typed or recorded) to each of the following prompts:
o Your current community service commitment(s);
o Why applicant is most deserving recipient of scholarship award; and,
o Vision for college and long-term personal goals.
