What I Know About Music Education Right Now Part 2

Music education is one of the more specialized teaching courses along with
art, technology, physical education. It seems this way because of the environment,
physical involvement, and the artistic nature of playing a music instrument. The
teacher in this music classroom has to play the role of many things including
foreman, director, collaborator, chief, teacher and student. All of these roles are
very crucial to having a constructive and safe classroom. Music education is such a
unique and magical art. Its created using anything and can be made anywhere. In
these current times, it is hard to find the opportunities to pass these plucked,
bowed, picked, and blown sounds in a school setting. Some research has shown that
music is a dying art. This has to be brought up because of the several stories that I
have heard that school districts are almost the first thing to ever go onto the
chopping block for a program to be cut. This infuriates me because most of the
time, sports are seen at the funded, attended and appreciated by the school. In
these current times, it seems this way because sports are seen as a form of
excitement to relax and (drink) and enjoy the contact sports. It seems to be in
competition with musical concerts and events because of the reason that people
have to sit, remain silent, and use their minds; ears, eyes, rather than sitting down
and yelling and screaming. Nevertheless, music education has a crucial role in
children and adults lives. Music brings, excitement, joy, former memories and a
form of connection that is rarely found in anything other than music. Music
educators have a very important job of structuring the classroom in the most
productive way and usually faces the problem of limited/ poor instruments
resources and funding and support by the school. Music education is one of the best
ways to have an everlasting change on a child or adult.
