Summer 2014 STEAM SUMMER PROGRAM

Isabel Rodriguez

IMPORTANT REMINDERS AND SUGGESTIONS

STEAM SUMMER PROGRAM
1. We are asking the morning staff to be ready to roll at 8:00 a.m. - You all are
expected to be supervising our students during breakfast. You will be compensated
accordingly.
2. To keep uniformity in supervising and managing our students during breakfast
and/or lunch, we are asking you to please not to use any type of whistling, whistles,
yelling, jumping or active exercising inside the cafeteria.
3. If you need any help in how to manage the children, please come see any of the
lead staff members, Catherine or me. We would be happy to assist you. Basically
establish a simple and clear routine: Walk in a line, get your breakfast, sit nicely
and calmly, no running, finish your meal, throw away trash, and wait patiently until
is your turn to move on to the next activity. Most importantly be respectful, and
safe.
Iliana Pinon has a plan in place for tomorrow in case we do not have enough STEAM
staff by 8:00 a.m. See her for details.
4. Dismissal: Remind the students that we are using routes #'s for dismissal, and
that is the number they need to know. The routes #'s are displayed on the windows,
NOT on the bus itself. I believe today we did a lot better!
5. Please begin closing your lessons, and getting the students ready by 2:50 and not
earlier than that; we want them to be learning.
6. Important: In order to save electricity/energy and other costs involving classroom
equipment, please turn off all the lights, Smart Boards and/or projectors before you
leave in the afternoon.
7. If you need any assistance, do not hesitate to reach out to your lead STEAM staff,
Cassie and Liliana, Catherine or me and of course Mr. Victor Mendoza.
8. KEEP UP THE GOOD STEAM going!!!
