Pharmacophore for La Crosse Virus N-terminal is 2,4-Dioxo-4-phenylbutanoic

acid. This ligand does not contain any chiral centers. Consequently, the
molecule will not produce any enantiomers. From the structure it is clearly
seen that the overall number of hydrogen bond acceptors is 4 and hydrogen
bond donor is 1. Thus, the ligand is capable of forming hydrogen bonds. Also,
the presence of aromatic ring in the ligand provides extra stability of the
molecule due to the electron delocalization and resonance within a ring. In
addition, it may give some conformational flexibility that allow the molecules
to have different shapes.
