The Pyramids of Giza


The Great Pyramids of Giza are some of the
most famous manmade objects in the
world, and they have been famous since
ancient times. In fact, the Great Pyramid of
Khufu (Cheops) is the only "Wonder of the
Ancient World" that still survives. However,
there are actually over one hundred
Pyramids in Egypt, including at least eight
more at Giza

The Nile River


Nile River, Arabic Bar Al-Nl or Nahr Al-Nl,
river, the father of African rivers and the
longest river in the world. It rises south of
the Equator and flows northward through
northeastern Africa to drain into the
Mediterranean Sea. It has a length of about
4,132 miles (6,650 kilometres) and drains
an area estimated at 1,293,000 square
miles (3,349,000 square kilometres)

DINDER NATIONAL PARK


Dinder National Park, park, southeastern Sudan.
Wildlife includes giraffe, hartebeest, reedbuck, roan
antelope, bushbuck, oribi, waterbuck, greater kudu,
gazelle, dik-dik, buffalo, lion, and ostrich. Black rhinoceros,
leopard, cheetah, elephant, hyena, and jackal are also
occasionally found. The park can be reached by road from
Khartoum, a distance of 290 miles (470 km). Its
headquarters are at Khartoum.
