Content Area/Grade/Standards/Topics Addressed: ELACC1RL2 Key Ideas and Details: Retell stories,
including key details, and demonstrate understanding of their central message or lesson.
Brief Description of Learning Experience: What learning standards will be addressed? The
students will retell stories, include key details, and demonstrate their understanding of the central
message of the story.
What will students and teachers do? PART 1:The teacher will first read the story, Charlottes Web to the
class. The students will then gather in small groups with their own copy of the book. The teacher will
then assign each group with a different group name, such as Group Fern, Group Spider, Group
pig, etc. Each group will discuss the importance of their character and the special traits the character
has. The teacher will then regroup and ask the students what their groups came up with. The students
will be asked to each write down what they learned and to practice speaking what they learned.
How will the project be introduced? PART 1 is the introduction to the project, and the first day of the
project. PART 2 of the project is the second day. This is when the teacher will record each group and
each student will speak and record what they learned.
How long will it take to complete? The project will take approximately 2 days.
What audience will use/care about the multimedia projects students are creating? Other students
around the world reading this book will use the information. This is because this book discusses a lot of
important values, such as loyalty, friendship, etc.
How broad is this audience? The audience for this project is very broadit pertains to any person
reading this book, and wanting to search for a deeper meaning of it.
How will student work be assessed and by whom? In this project, the other groups will assess each
groups work. Each group will listen to the podcasts and leave insightful comments about what they
learned from the other groups.
Who will provide feedback to students about their work? The other student groups will provide feedback, as well
as other parties who listen to the blog.
Student Engagement/Higher-Order Thinking: What LoTi level would this lesson be and Why?
Which indicators of Engaged Learning are strong and why? This is a level 4 LoTi level because the students are
working different groups, learning about diverse groups, communicating in multiple aspects, and there are multiple technologies
in use. I believe the student collaboration would be very strong in this project. Not only are they working with different students
in their groups, but also they are providing feedback to each other and learning about every students opinion in the classroom.
Importance of technology: Why is using a multimedia authoring tools critical to the project? It is
vital to use multimedia in this project, so the students can also learn how to speak efficiently. We will
be practicing how to speak clearly before they are recorded, and this is a good way how to help them
articulate their words and express their feelings. They can also listen to the recordings to hear what
they sound like, and listen to what they could improve for the next time.
Could the project be completed without this technology? This project could be completed without
technology, but it wouldnt be as efficient. This is because the students would easily forget what they
said, what their group said, and they definitely wouldnt be able to remember what the other groups
said. They also wouldnt be able to provide feedback to the other students, and learn about the other
groups point of view, which is the most important part.
What would be lost without using it? Communication, practicing skills, and memory would all be lost.
What other types of technology, if any, are going to be used in the learning experience? We will be using
the class blog in this learning experience, because the audio podcasts will be posted there.
Inspiration (optional): If you used existing multimedia projects as a model for your project (whether
in part or whole), include the URL(s) so we can visit. Explain what concepts you borrowed from
others. (Not available)

Internet Safety and Student Privacy: Briefly discuss some possible issues surrounding internet
safety and student privacy that could arise while implementing this learning experience and explain
how youd minimize risks to students/yourself, alleviate any fears by parents/administrators, and
follow school districts Internet Safety/Use Policy.
A privacy issue that could occur from this project, is showing the students faces on the internet. For this reason, I decided to
make an audio lesson, instead of a movie. Another way of alleviating fears by parents and administrators, I will have my students
introduce themselves by their first name only in the audio. Their usernames (like I mentioned in the previous lesson plans) is
their favorite animal and their favorite number. This way, when they comment the blogs to discuss what they learned from the
other groups, their full names will be protected. For viewers around the world that are viewing this blog, I will make sure to
