1. Explain what the UW System is and what type of schools it consists of.
Also, list one name of each of the specific types of schools within the UW
System.
The University of Wisconsin System is a university system of public
universities in the state of Wisconsin.

2. What type of degree do you earn from a technical college? How long does it
take to earn? Go to MATCs site and look at one of their majors. State what
major you looked at and 3 courses you would take.
Associate's Degree and it takes two years.
Major I looked at was Physical Therapist Assistant.
Three courses to take:
algebra
chemistry
biology

You can earn any degree from a college/university anywhere from a
associates degree to a bachelor's degree.
4. What is a Masters Degree? How long does it take to earn? Name ONE
career that requires you to obtain a Masters Degree.
Masters degree is a earned for someone who has a higher level courses of
the area Four years with 7-8 credits per semester. One career that needs
this is a physicians assistant.
5. What is a Professional Degree? How long does it take to earn? Name ONE
career that requires you to obtain a Professional Degree.
A professional degree prepares the conferee for a particular profession by
emphasizing skills and practical analysis over theory and research. This takes
about two years, and one career that needs this degree is a dentist. (most
healthcare jobs require this)
6. What is a career college and how it different from a university? Name
TWO career colleges in the Milwaukee area as well as one career area they
each specialize in.

7. List and discuss 2 pros and 2 cons addressing the differences between a
private 4-year university and a 4-year public university?

consider this form of education/training.
Apprenticeship is a combination of on-the-job training (OJT) and related
classroom instruction under the supervision of a journey-level craftsperson
or trade professional in which workers learn the practical and theoretical
aspects of a highly skilled occupation.

9. Explain 2 types of benefits the military provides in terms of education and


training.
education is somewhat paid for after out of service (GI Bill provides 36
months for this)
programs to help people once of dutty to get jobs
