Read about the following European explorers on pages 471-475 to help you out with the chart below.
When your chart is complete, use the information to help you complete the map (second sheet).

Chapter 16.1 European Explorers (Part 2.)

Map Activity:

1. Create your Map Key. Choose 5 different symbols ( square, star, circle, etc...) to
represent each of the explorers you read about for the “explorer” chart. (For example,
Chris Columbus is a square, Henry Hudson a star.)
2. For your key, color code the symbols and explorers. (Example: Chris Columbus is a
square that you color code orange).
3. Title your key “ Explorer Route Key.”
4. Using your “explorer” chart to help you, mark your symbol ( ex: square) to represent
where each explorer is from ( ex: Spain).
5. For each explorer and symbol, trace the route that explorer took, using the correct color
code. Refer to your chart to help you out with that.
6. Color the following water bodies blue: Pacific Ocean, Arctic Ocean, Indian Ocean,
Atlantic Ocean.
