Design Brief-Strand 2

4. Should any doubt be held over the ownership of coursework
completed submitted material will be given a no grade.

Design stems from an inherent desire and need to advance the boundaries of the world
around us. It is a process which has aesthetic and functional merits and culminates in the production
of something new and different. This project entails the students producing a series of rendered
sketches of a design and accompanying to scale model. Students must select one of the series of
briefs set down and complete.

Music is an ever present aspect of life. Trends in the personal listening devises have come full circle
with the prominence of the headphone once again taking centre stage. You are tasked with
designing an innovative and practical headphone holder which should incorporate a musical theme.
Or

it is a proven fact that studying in a neat and well lit area is more contusive to work. You are tasked
with the deigning of a desk tidy which incorporates a light feature. Students must include a historical
reference related to a period in during the post-modern era.

Or

Design and make a decorative box to hold small items. The design should incorporate contrasting
materials and exude your own design preferences.

Or

Design a key holder with a secondary function. The holder should be capable of holding a minimum
of 10 keys and display them in a clear fashion.
