Fun on the Farm

F2 enjoyed a trip to Cannon hall Farm this week
to help them with their learning. They met all
kinds of different animals and learned about
what they eat and how to look after them. All
the adults commented on what a fabulous day
everybody hadexcellent behaviour from
everyone and lots of fun and learning.

Once again this year Horizon and a number

of other Barnsley secondary schools are
having an early transition period for children moving into Y7. Children in our Y6 who
are moving on to Horizon will leave us on
Friday 3rd July and start at Horizon on
Monday 6th July. From 6th July we will also
be holding class transition sessions and early shuffle up to give children a chance to
get to know their new teachers and classrooms before the new school year starts in
September. We will send more details nearer the time however if you have any questions about early transition please call in
and see us.

Active Learning

Year 2 have been testing out our new active

learning bibs in PE this week. Were looking
forward to using them in lots of different
ways to help us with our learningeven
phonics, maths and spelling!

Our first annual

general meeting will
be held on Tuesday
28th April at
9:30am. Everyone is
welcome. With lots
of exciting events including the summer
fair and our Y6 prom coming up, we need
your help. Come along and find out how you
can get involved.

The Magic Of Outdoors

Its been a busy week
in the woods this
week. As well as working with all our learners, Gilly has had
some grown up learners in the forest. Gilly
worked with 9 teachers from across
Barnsley, delivering
training on how to use
the outdoors to make learning magic.
