Purpose

April 2015
To Whom It May Concern:
It is an honor to be writing on behalf of Alexis Elkins, a colleague I have known for nearly three years in
my capacity as Principal and Chief Executive Officer at the Chester Charter School for the Arts, a
public, non-profit charter school serving children from the Chester Upland School District. Mrs. Elkins
is a motivated professional who continually seeks ways of expanding her knowledge base and
increasing her familiarity with strategies to improve student outcomes. She is intellectually curious,
hard-working and approaches challenges with a can do attitude.
In her capacity as 4th Grade Teacher, Mrs. Elkins was a tremendous asset to the Chester Charter School
for the Arts. The consummate educator, she earned the respect of her colleagues through her
professionalism and expertise. She is caring, compassionate and a strong proponent of having
children succeed academically while developing strong character. She places children at the core of
everything she does and offers others support as they endeavor to do the same.
I wish that she could have remained at the Chester Charter School for the Arts, but her husbands job
relocation to the Chicago area required otherwise. Because of her skill as a teacher, Mrs. Elkins has a
standing offer to return to our school, if she ever moves back to Pennsylvania. I trust that she will be an
asset to any school or organization that has opportunity to hire her. If any further information is
necessary, I am happy to offer my personal endorsement over the phone (267.809.1345) or via email
(awatts@chestercharterschoolforthearts.org).
Sincerely,
