GILLETTE GAZETTE

4-24-15

Math
Perimeter and Area continued. Be
sure to purchase multiplication
flashcards and start practicing 5
min. per night if you havent
already.

Science/Social
Studies
We finished our PLTW Matter
Module by making our coolers. All
students were successful in
keeping a popsicle cold for 65 min.
while under a heat lamp. Our
results varied from 15 mL -50mL
of liquid measured after the time
was up. I see a promising career
in engineering for all of these
students! See the PLTW video we
created to learn more about our
unit.
We will start our next PLTW unit
on Form & Function on Monday.
Please look for the donation list
coming home today.

Looking Ahead:
See below for some dates
you may want to take some
time off work for.

Reading/LA
Grammar: plural nouns, antonyms, end marks
Strategies: inference, summarizing, making connections
Writing: Friendly letter format, Weekend in Review, Star page
Reading Groups: We studied Earth Day by brainstorming ways we
can help the earth by reducing, reusing, and recycling. We made
bracelets that represent the circles of the Earth: water, air,
