I am writing to recommend Santiago Mejia for Boys State. Santiago works for the library
as a volunteer and I have had direct interaction with him as I supervise all the teen
volunteers at the library. I have found him prompt, eager and enthusiastic with his work
but more than that I can honestly say that he is a pleasure to work with. Santiago has
gone on to volunteer at a number of worthwhile causes and I have a pleasure of being
able to recommend him to you.
I met Santiago as a patron about four years ago. He had been coming into the library a
good deal and in light of his air of competence, I asked him to volunteer. Over the years,
he worked on numerous projects. He was one of those people I knew I could always
count on him to help even if the task at hand was difficult or tedious.
Santiago made and continues to make a difference at the library. His dedication and skill
helped to make a positive impact on the lives of the community. The library impacts the
community as a whole and Santiago worked to improve the library. In this way, Santiago
has made a positive impact on his entire community through his volunteer work at the
library. I can confidently recommend him as a potentially excellent candidate for Boys
State. Santiagos service shows his character and leadership. I would feel comfortable
recommending him for any leadership program that values character, loyalty, and service
as part of the criteria for acceptance.
