Peer Evaluation Rubric
Peer Evaluation Rubric
OVERVIEW: This is an exercise in peer evaluation. Below is the rubric you will use to evaluate a classmates essay. This is the same
rubric Mr. Follman/Mr. Collins will use to evaluate your essay. Each essay should contain 20 components (e.g., hook, context, thesis,
topic sentence, etc.). For each component, a student can earn up to 5 points. As such, the total essay is worth 100 points.
DIRECTIONS: For each component (e.g., hook, context, thesis, topic sentence, etc.), provide your classmate a score: 0,1, 3, or 5.
Write this score in the far right column next to each piece. When you are finished evaluating an essay, there should be 20 numbers
between 0 and 5 on the far right column. Add these numbers together and write the sum where it says TOTAL_____/100.
