A. Analysis of your experiences as an intern using reflective processing
techniques- During the first day of my internship, I learned a few things in regards of budgeting and how to input that information into the taxes of the organization, and I also learned about the organizations annual report. Since it was the first day, I learned that when doing an annual report, you must make sure all the information that is present is correct. You also have graphics and pictures in the annual report that reflect the organizations events and goals they have meant for that year. My site supervisor had me editing the annual report, and making sure there were no loop holes when it came to spelling and extra spacing in the sentences. I think what I can do next time when I have to work on the annual report, is change it up with the permission of my site supervisor of course. By doing this, I can change the fonts, colors and wording to draw attention to the areas that will make the report stand out.
B. Analysis of your strengths and needs related to the performance of the
duties of a Human Services administrator- The strengths and needs I am going to need in regards to my duties as an Human Service Administrator, are to first ask what needs to be done, since I dont have a specific job duty at my organization. Second, I base my strengths and needs on my performance at the organization also. If my site supervisor is showing me how to do a specific task, I want to be able to follow her lead, and know how to do it on my own. This doesnt include just at my internship site, but future job also. I hope to use those strengths and needs as knowledge to gain, and to take it with me to help others. C. A clearly articulated self-improvement plan based on your analysis- My
self-improvement plan would be to first identify my weaknesses at my internship.
Once they are identified, I can work on those first to better myself. Second, I will need to prioritize my growth, especially with my achievements that I do, and those that are recognized by my site supervisor. Third, I want to track specific goals during my time at my internship. This way, I can learn something new each week, and take that as an insight by adding to my list of accomplishments. I think whats most important, is doing an internship at an organization that
youre going to like, and one that reflects on a particular area you want to work in come time to apply for jobs.
