Iberville Building

Beginning next month, the Iberville building will be home to four new tenants the Louisiana
Gaming Control Boards Hearing Office, Mental Health Advocacy Service (MHAS), Louisiana
Patients Compensation Fund (LPCF), and the Governors Office of Elderly Affairs (GOEA).
This is an exciting opportunity to learn a little bit about other departments serving our state.
The Louisiana Gaming Control Board is responsible for regulating all gaming activities under its
jurisdiction and instilling trust that gaming activities are conducted honestly and free from
corruptive elements. The Louisiana Gaming Control Boards Hearing Office will be located on
the first floor.
MHAS operates under the tenet that no patient in a treatment facility is deprived of rights,
benefits and privileges guaranteed by the law and also represents and assists adults and children
in competency, commitment, and other mental health matters. MHAS will be housed the first
floor.
LPCF was created to serve Louisiana healthcare providers, legitimate injured parties of medical
malpractice and Louisiana citizens and guarantees that affordable, medical malpractice coverage
is available to all private healthcare providers. LPCF will be located on the second floor.
GOEA administers a broad range of home and community-based services while serving
Louisianas senior citizens. They work closely with local parish Councils on Aging (COA).
GOEA will be housed on the second floor.
Since there will be many new faces in the Iberville building, I would like to remind staff of
building security protocols. Please remember that all staff and visitors to the Iberville Building
must wear either their state issued identification badge, or a visitor badge, at all times while in
the building. Employees arriving at work without their badge must sign the log at the Security
Guard's desk, present their driver's license (or some other form of photo ID) and will be issued a
temporary badge. The employee must call a supervisor or co-worker and ask them to come down
to the Security Desk and escort him/her to the elevator or stairwell.
