Familiarizing you with the EQAO assessments and
their value in the classroom

improving student learning
Examining EQAO resources that support teaching,
learning and assessment

Building Futures

The Building Futures program has been developed by the


Ministry of Education to assist teacher candidates as they
embark on their careers and make the transition from the
faculty to the classroom. The program offers workshops

Social Justice in
Education

on a variety of topics that will provide teacher candidates


with practical strategies. Refreshments and resources will
be provided. Registration is required.
A Faculty of Education Conference offered in collaboration
with teacher candidates and social justice educators.
Interactive workshops will provide teacher candidates
with the opportunity to share and reflect on social justice
and equity issues relevant to education. Registration is
required.

School Boards from across the province and agencies for


overseas teaching opportunities will share information
regarding potential teaching positions with their respective
Boards/Agencies. Some participants will be offering larger
presentations and some may hold interviews at this time.
Superintendents responsible for hiring will speak to teacher
candidates interested in pursuing employment with the
GECDSB.

An award-winning play written by First Nations playwright


Drew Hayden-Taylor and produced by Roseneath Theatre.
This play challenges cultural stereotypes and introduces First
Nations culture and contemporary issues.
