Lesson 1 Vocabulary:
*water cycle: the process in which water
continuously moves from the Earths surface
into the atmosphere and back again
*evaporation: the process by which a liquid
changes into a gar
*atmosphere: the mixture of gases that
surround Earth

Lesson 1 Vocabulary:
*precipitation: water that falls from clouds
to Earths surface
*runoff: water that does not soak into the
ground and instead flows across Earths
surface
*groundwater: water located within the
gaps and pores of rocks below Earths surface

*weather: what is happening in the

*humidity: the amount of water vapor in the
air
*air pressure: the weight of the atmosphere
