    A citizen reported a fire at a residence in north Danville at 8:10am. The Danville Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire, remaining on scene until 2:12pm. The resident was not home during the fire and there were no injuries, but damage to the house was extensive. The resident also reported stolen property, and evidence at the scene suggests the residence was also burglarized. The Danville Police Department and Fire Marshall's Office are investigating the burglary and arson. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Danville Crimestoppers.

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

    BURGLARY / ARSON

    The Danville Police Department and Danville Fire Department responded to a burglary and
    arson this morning in north Danville.

    At approximately 8:10am this morning a citizen reported a fire in the residence located at 150
    Brentwood Dr. The Danville Fire Department responded and remained on scene until
    approximately 2:12pm. The resident was not at home at the time of the fire, and there were no
    injuries as a result. Damage to the house was extensive. The resident reported stolen property,
    and evidence at the scene also suggests the house was burglarized during the same time frame.
    The Danville Police Department Investigative Division along with the Danville Fire Marshall’s
    Office is investigating.
