Commitment to Content Knowledge and Scholarship

I have a GPA of 3.54 overall. I have a 3.1 GPA in my content of General Science. The
science classes that I have had to take are Biology 1 and 2 with both labs, Ecology with a lab,
Astronomy, Chemistry 1 and 2 with both labs, Physics 1 with a lab, and Geology with a lab. I am
currently in Physics 2 with a lab and chemistry research. I believe that these classes are rigorous.
I scored a 183 on the math Praxis 1, a 174 on writing, and a 172 on reading. I scored above the
West Virginia State Standards on all three portions of this test. I scored a 177 on the PLT, which
was also above the West Virginia State Standards. This proves my commitment to scholarship
and knowledge. I plan to take the Praxis 2 during the summer of 2015.
Another way to prove my commitment to content knowledge is by looking at my artifacts
under this specific commitment. I have chosen a lesson plan that used national and state
standards that aligned with my objectives of the lesson. I taught the two lessons in this
commitment together. The first lesson introduced the second lesson. I was very confident of my
content knowledge when I taught these two lessons. I even went to my physics professor to make
sure that I was going to relay the information correctly. I watched videos and read reliable
sources to find ways to relate the content of sound waves to my students in seventh grade.
