Summary of Histograms: The data reflect above is that of a simple random sample of starting compensation
packages, including benefits, of 2014 graduates from US Department of Labor Statistics. It is notable that the
Education new graduates starting compensation package was the most consistent categorically. 80% of the
graduates fell within the $36,004-$44,005 salary range. Humanities new graduates starting salary was
somewhat equally distributed but skewed to the right with overall median salaries lower than that of the other
graduates. Engineering salary distribution is slightly skewed to the left; overall salaries are higher than all
others graduates. Computer Science salaries offer the range with the least amount of variance with
approximately 44 graduates, or 88%, having starting packages between $52,008-$68,001. Business
compensation packages are the most equally distributed. Mathematics salaries appear to be the lowest overall.
