I am a senior healthcare management student at Southern Illinois
University Carbondale. As a requirement of my bachelors degree
program in healthcare management, I am expected to participate in an
internship at a healthcare facility to gain first-hand experience with
departments or individual supervisors that perform management
duties. I would like to fulfill my requirement at your facility by
performing twelve semester credit hours, which equates to forty hours
per week throughout the spring semester of 2016.
I have a strong desire to work in a healthcare setting and would be
willing to work with one or more departments throughout my 15 weeks
to gain an overview of the different divisions that are necessary to
meet the needs of the staffing and to provide quality patient care
services. To work with Department Directors or mid-level or upperlevel executives would be a great opportunity for me since I am
planning (to pursue graduate studies for an MHA or MBA after
graduation. I am most interested in the health care areas of planning
and development, clinical operations, and human resources if any of
these areas might be an option for my internship. I am enclosing my

weeks to see if we can arrange a meeting to discuss my request to
complete my internship experience with someone in your agency.
