NASPE Standard(s):
Standard 1: The physically literate individual demonstrates competency in a variety of motor skills and movement patterns.
Standard 2: The physically literate individual applies knowledge of concepts, principles, strategies and tactics related to movement
and performance.
Standard 5: The physically literate individual recognizes the value of physical activity for health, enjoyment, challenge, selfexpression and/or social interaction.
Achievement Targets:
Students will learn how to throw and catch a football properly. They will refine their hand eye coordination. Every student needs to
learn these basic skills to participate in most other activities.
Special Planning/Preparations (i.e. safety concerns, etc.): Footballs, pennies, and open space will be needed. We need to be aware
of possible twisting of ankles, and be aware of the people around us to help prevent hurting one another.

Time
Intro-Activity: The students will start with a fiveminute jog around the gym while keeping a good pace.
After this the students will go through a teacher lead

stretch for five minutes.
Warm-up: The students will pair up and I will teach
the students how to throw a football. I will emphasize
on finger placement, pointing to where they want to
