While outside today Lujain you became excited by the orange and red leaves
sparkling in the sunshine. I observed you run up to them, smile gleefully at your
friends Alanzo, Sana, Zaina and Fawwaz and throw them in the air giggling. After a
while T. Maysoon fetched the green bin. Lujain you started using a shovel and
broom to collect the leaves before putting them inside or green bin.
Review of learning
Lujain it is wonderful to see you taking responsibility for your environment, I am
beginning to see this is a strong interest for as well as caring for others. Playing and
tidying up the leaves required eye-co-ordination, gross and fine motor control, and
spatial awareness. I enjoyed labelling your feelings and talking about the colour and
textures of the leaves with you, supporting your vocabulary in meaningful ways. I
could see your mother enjoyed watching you respond with wonderment an awe
while using pro-socials strategies toe explore alongside friends.
Where to next?
Lujain has a strong interest in taking care of others and her environment particularly
animals and baking/cooking. This interest naturally leads itself to the disposition of
responsibility this is considered an essential disposition to lifelong learning. When
Lujain graduates to primary school this is built on and assessed within the key
competency as thinking. We will continue to support Lujain through her interests
to further develop this disposition offering collaborative experiences.
