Educational Application:
Photo filters could be used when creating educational materials for
classroom use in a variety of ways. One way that comes to mind is using the
different pictures to introduce comprehension skills to young learners. For
example, when teaching the skill of compare and contrast, students could
compare pictures that have been altered using various filters and identify their
similarities and differences. Another comprehension skill that could be taught
through the use of picture alteration is sequencing. Students could identify what
happens sequentially throughout the filtering/photo editing process. In addition
to introducing comprehension skills, edited photos could be used throughout the
classroom within teacher-created posters, decorations, learning aids, etc.
