Where will I use my classroom?

My classroom design is for grades 9-12

Subject: Mathematics

Design Rational:

The teachers desk will be placed in the back corner of the classroom so that I will be able to see everything
happening in my class. If a teacher has to be seated at her desk for some reason, she must be aware of
everything going on in her classroom at all times.

The computers that are for the children's use will be all lined up together. They are also turned so that
everyone, including the teacher can see what they are doing. Allowing the students to use it is a privilege,
but they should still be monitored.

Each of the students will be seated with a group of others. This is so that no student is left with no help
when they are in need of it. When the children are in a groups they will be more inclined to ask their peers
for help when they do not understand something, then to just continue on and be confused.

Learning Goals:

All my students are expected to try their hardest in any lesson we do.

I will expect much from my students so that they can achieve the highest
possible levels, they should always strive for greatness.

My students should be expected to be challenged and should not get

discouraged at any point, I am doing everything to better their knowledge in
the subject matter.

I will expect my students to use all the resources available to them,

collaboration, peer tutoring, extra help, reliable Internet resources etc.

My personal goal is to make sure the students have a better understanding

and love for the material when they walk out of my classroom door then
when they walked in.

Other Useful Materials:

I will use the computers for both academic enrichment and academic
intervention. For students who need the extra help, they can either go
to the back of the room and meet at the kidney table or do research on
website like Khan Academy to get a better understanding of the
material. Students who excel past the others can use the interne to
play a review game on the topic or use the time to look up how the
topic is used in our everyday lives.

There will be a no tolerance for bullying or disrespect in my classroom.

This will insure that my students know that they are in a safe and
secure environment and can focus on learning.
