WCPS' Washington County

Public Schools

Springfield Middle

April 28, 2015

To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing to commend Sara Crosten for doing an outstanding job during her practicum experience at
Springfield Middle School. Mrs. Crosten has served Washington County Public Schools for the past 3 years as
a Magnet Grade 6 Science teacher at Springfield Middle School. I have served as her principal and I'm proud
that I have had the opportunity to mentor Sara during this experience in the various aspects and responsibilities
of school administration.

Mrs. Crosten made immediate impact on the school climate and culture. She shared her abilities to solve

problems and provide ideas that have led to some very positive changes for the school stakeholders. In seeing a
need for parent education, Mrs. Crosten created Parent University, a website that provides resources to our
parents so that they can support the learning of their children. She also took the lead in creating a brochure to
support substitute teachers. Throughout her practicum, Mrs. Crosten has engaged with various individuals,
learning a variety of job responsibilities within the total school environment. Not only did she focus on the
school environment, but also on ways to impact the school system at the county level.

It has been a pleasure to support Sara through this experience and she is commended for doing a wonderful job.
Sara is energetic, cooperative, student-centered and very organized. She is a goal-oriented individual who will
make an excellent instructional leader in the future.

Sincerely,

fnnifer Ruppenthal
Principal
