I am writing to you on the accordance of the events
which have taken place on the 27th of February, 1902. It was on this fateful day that the good man and military officer Harry Harbord Morant was murdered. I say murdered as the trial and court that he faced were nothing short of criminal. A court martial for following orders. Utterly disgraceful, if I may say so Mr Prime Minister. Harry Morant was tried and executed for war crimes, in the space of eighteen hours. A rushed process, would you not agree? Whats more, Mr Prime Minister, is that the official court records were never recovered, and the executions themselves were not revealed to the public until 1907. Thats a lot of misplaced information. Harry Morant was simply following the orders of Captain Percy Hunt, to take no prisoners. I sit here, writing this letter, still unable to comprehend the amount of injustice, corruption and cowardice that has been shown by the British Empire. Signed, A proud Australian.
