The fourth one did a loop-the-loop. (Move ring finger in a circle)
The fifth one said, Lets catch some gnats. (Wiggle your little finger)
Isnt it fun being five little bats? (Wiggle all five fingers)

Drama and French. She work in publishing as a
teacher while writing and performing songs for street
theater with her husband Malcom. One of the songs
she wrote turned into a book and she has written
more than 100 books since then.

Intro1:
Children will be asked what costume they will be wearing for the
Halloween Party. We will talk about all the different costumes we
might
see. I will ask the children if they think witches are good or
bad. I will then
introduce the story about a kind witch.
Conclusion: After the story we will transition with riding on our pretend
broomsticks to the next activity.
Intro 2:
I will put on my witches hat and witches fingers and ask the
children to join me for a story. I will have a broom at my side.
Conclusion: After the story we will take turns riding on my witches broom
around the room.

when reading this book. As children turn the pages
they watch the monster grow with die pages.
Then they can chase him away while turning the
remaining pages and watching him disappear.
Ed Emberley studied painting and illustration at the
Massachusetts School of Art in Boston. Ed lives in
Ipswich, Massachusetts with his wife. He has two
grown children.

Intro 2:
Prior to reading, I would select a few students to help me tell
the story. Some children will help with the beginning and some
with the end.
Some children will be given parts of the monster's
face. For example, two yellow
eyes, sharp white teeth, scraggly
hair, etc. As I read the beginning of the story,
the children
holding the parts that I read about, will come up and place
them
on the monster's face. When the end of the story is being read,
the other students will help remove the face parts from the
monster.
Conclusion:
After the story we will discuss how the children feel about
monsters. If they have ever seen a real monster and the
difference
between real and pretend. I would then have the
children say goodbye to
the Big Green Monster puppet and put
him away.

6. Children will be given one long piece of green construction paper
to rip into as many pieces as they have pumpkins.

play a fun Halloween game. They listen to
the song, Pass the Witchs Broomstick
once. We will practice singing the chant
that is played in the song.
Children will stand in a circle.
As the music begins, children will pass a
broomstick around the circle.
Children will sing along with the music:
Pass the witchs broomstick round and round
the room.
While the musics playing quickly pass the
broom.
Anyone is out if the broomstick drops
Or the one who has it when the music stops.
