Financialplanningistheprocessofassessingfinancialgoalsofindividual,takingan
inventoryofthemoneyandotherassetswhichthepersonhave,determinelifegoalsand
thentakenecessarystepstoachievegoalsinthestipulatedperiod.Itisamethodof
quantifyingapersonsrequirementintermsofmoney.
ItwasagreatopportunitytoworkwithADAGroup,Indiasleadingbusinessgroup.
RelianceMoneyasubsidiaryofRelianceCapitalisamongtopfinancialcompanies.We
will get to know the organisational structure and various business models of the
company. The business of Reliance Money can be broadly classified as Trading,
DistributionandOTCService.
Financialservicesrefertoservicesprovidedbythefinanceindustry.Thefinanceindustry
encompassesabroadrangeoforganizationsthatdealwiththemanagementofmoney.
Among these organizations are banks, credit card companies, insurance companies,
consumerfinancecompanies,stockbrokerages,investmentfundsandsomegovernment
sponsoredenterprises.FinancialPlanningisonesuchadvisoryservice,whichisyetto
getrecognitionfrominvestors.Althoughfinancialplanningisnotanewconcept,itjust
needstobeconductedinorganizedmanner.TodayweavailthisservicefromInsurance
agent,Mutualfundagents,Taxconsultant,EquityBrokers,CharteredAccountants,etc.
Differentagentsprovidedifferentservicesandproductoriented.FinancialPlanneron
otherhandisaserviceproviderwhichenablesanindividualtoselectproperproductmix
forachievingtheirgoals.
Themajorthingstobeconsideredinfinancialplanningaretimehorizontoachievelifegoals,
identifyrisktoleranceofclient,theirliquidityneed,theinflationwhichwouldeatupliving
anddecreasestandardoflivingandtheneedforgrowthorincome.Keepingallthisinmind
financialplanningisdonewithsixstepprocess.Thisareselfassessmentofclient,identify
personal goals and financial goals and objective, identify financial problems and
opportunities, determining recommendations and alternative solutions, implementation of
appropriatestrategytoachievegoalsandreviewandupdateplanperiodically.

AgoodfinancialplanincludesContingencyplanning,RiskPlanning(insurance),Tax
Planning,RetirementPlanningandInvestmentandSavingoption.
Contingency planning is the basic of financial planning and also the most ignored.
Contingencyplanningistobepreparedformajorunforeseeneventifitoccurs.These
eventscanbeillness,injuryinfamily,lossofregularpayduetolossofjob.Suchevents
arenotcertainbutmayhavefinancialhardshipiftheyoccur.Thusapersonshouldhave
enoughmoneyinliquidformtocoverthisrisk.
