Parliamentary Debate

Once you are in your groups, you need to decide why you believe the view
you do. (write down one sentence stating why you believe your view is
right).

Give 3 supportive reasons for each topic as to why you believe that your
view is the correct belief. Each topic will include supportive details from
your primary sources.
Examine your opponents views and be able to point out 3 weaknesses for
each topic (write the weaknesses down on a piece of paper and what
makes their argument weak) For example: the 15th Amendment said that
all could vote, so, why cant women?)

Once you have established your opponents weaknesses write three

questions to ask you opponent to reveal a weakness in their argument.
(ex: If the French Revolution was such a success with bringing about
democracy for the people, then how was the rise of Napoleon and his
dictatorship seen as a success? In the end, did they not just exchange
one dictatorship for another?)
