Messages and Mindset are powerful teaching

tools that positively or negatively influence a

students self-confidence and behavior.
Teachers may convey positive messages by

using certain words and actions.

A positive mindset will guide teachers and
influence student behavior.

The Impact of Messaging

and Mindset
This innovation is effective due to the

understanding and respect of a students self

concept. Self concept is what a person thinks
to be true about him or herself.
Assessing and understanding why a student
may misbehave is a form of addressing and
perhaps fixing the issue. Communicating and
conveying with the student that he or she is in
a respected and safe environment, will invite
the student to communicate their concerns.

An Effective Approach
This approach is most effective. It is often

seen that students who are struggling with a

subject matter will often reactive in a
disruptive or extreme way. Participation
dissipates, misbehavior and lack of interest
often happens when they feel self-conscience.
If teachers take the time to understand why
the student lashes out instead of punishing for
bad behavior, they will be able to effectively
resolve the issue as well as give the student a
a higher self-esteem.

Implementing Mindset and

Messaging
In order to have an effective school

community, mission statements will be the

creed of all school staff, administrators and
learners. A positive mindset and messaging
will be the guideline and goal of all individuals
involved in the academic setting.
This will encourage all teachers to look passed
academic standards and to have an effective
and influential teaching career.
