min.

Students will change and meet the teacher at

the meeting place.
Introduction:
Greeting: Good morning everybody
Overview:
Warm-up
Advanced strategies
Tournament play
Warm-up: Students will get a partner, a
racquet and one birdie. With this equipment
they will find a net and warm- up by reviewing
the shots we did yesterday. (Drive, drop shot,
smash)
Transition: Students will be called in to the
center court. They will walk over and hold
their racquet still while given instruction.
Informing:
1.
Serving (deep/short)- T will explain
and demonstrate to S that changing up their
serve can be an advantage to them. When
their partner is standing towards the back of
the serving box they should try and serve
short. And vise- versa
2.
Hit to opponents body- T will
explain that hitting to their opponents body
will make it harder for their opponent to return
the birdie.
3.
Hit to the opponents nondominant hand- T will explain that most
players are weaker on their non- dominant
hand and it will be harder for their opponent
to return the birdie.
After explaining each strategy, students will
return to their court and practice the strategy.
Each strategy will be taught one at a time,
then students will practice it for 2 minutes and
then they will return to the center court when
told to by T.
Demonstration: T will demonstrate each of
the strategies on the center of the court while
the students are around it. T will demonstrate
multiple times from both sides of the court.
Check for understanding:
Why is it important to play with strategy? To
control the net
When do we want to hit the birdie short?
When the opponent is towards the back of
the court.
Transition: T will call all of the students to the
center court.
