problemstheymayencounter.Thenstudentswillusethisinformationtocompleteacompare
andcontrastworksheetaboutthemselvesandchildreninthatcountryorbetweentwodifferent
countries.ThisisrelevantforsustainabilitybecausestudentsarelearningaboutFoodsources
aroundtheworldaswellashowtoliveahealthierlifeusingFuturesThinking.

Students will complete a Compare and Contrast Worksheet with at least four
bullet points in each category.
PREREQUISITEKNOWLEDGE
Whatwillstudentsneedtoknowpriortocompletingthislessonandhowwillyouaccess
theirpriorknowledge?
Students will need to know how to conduct research using technology. I will
go through the process of what is expected so students know what is
appropriate to research. They will also have knowledge of nutrition in
America and around the world as well.

TEACHINGPROCEDURES
ProceduralSteps(Stepbystepinstructionsforteachingthelesson):
1.Introduceobjectivestotheclasssothatstudentsunderstandwhatwillbeexpectedofthemby
theendofthelesson.
2. Pre-Assign groups for students and place them in those groups at
different tables around the room.
3. Give each student a third world country that they will be researching
4. Go to the computer library and ask students to research all the
information of their country using an information worksheet
discovering their nutritional resources, ways of living, and
community involvement.
5. Students will then go back to the classroom with their groups and use the
Compare and Contrast Worksheet to compare the different resources and
information from the ir assigned country and their own lives.
6. Each student will fill in their own worksheet compared to their own lives
and then share with their group
7. After groups are done with the worksheet, they will create a poster about
their country and how they would help that country. Then as a presentation
they will introduce their country to share with classmates about what they've
learned.
