My Behavioural Management

Philosophy
I believe that childrens thoughts, feelings and previous experiences can influence
how they choose to behave in the classroom. It is extremely important for me as a
future teacher to prevent inappropriate and challenging behaviour within the
classroom; this will allow all students the opportunity to actively participate in the
learning process. Gaining an in-depth knowledge and understanding of each
individual student in my class will allow me to understand why certain students
behave in certain ways. Understanding why a child behaves is a positive approach to
behaviour guidance which is what I will work towards in my future classroom.

I believe that it is important not to punish a child who makes a behaviour mistake;
instead we should let the students understand that mistakes are an opportunity to
learn more skilful behaviour. Providing my students with a secure, loving and
stimulating environment will allow them to feel comfortable and confident when
attending school.

My behaviour management plan will constantly be reflected upon to ensure that it

meets the needs of all my students. I believe that a positive classroom environment,
structure in routines, positive guidance and a knowledge and understanding of each
child will contribute greatly to a positive behaviour ethic within my classroom. By
using different strategies, childrens confidence and self-esteem will build and will
provide them with the support, guidance and opportunity to manage their own

behaviour. Therefore it is important for me to introduce various strategies to ensure

positive behaviours and attitudes are evident within my future classroom.
