Objectives: I can complete PARCC practice questions to prepare for the test. I can
create a line plot using supply measurement data on the iPad.
Standards: 3.MD.4

Warm Up:
o

Students will come in and have a seat at the table.

I will tell students that we will be doing practice questions to begin to learn
how PARCC looks and works.

I will have students get their iPads.

I will have them go to safari and type in:

http://parcc.pearson.com/practice-tests/

We will click on Math.

We will click on grade 3.

We will look under EOY Practice Tests

We will click computer based test.

Students will put in their name, click start, start section.

We will look over questions 13-16 and answer them together.

I will have students put away their iPads.

Whole Group:

I will tell students that today we will be making a line plot using data about
the length of supplies that we measured the previous day, and we will be
creating the line plot on the iPad.

Students will get out their recording sheets from the previous day.

I will have students get their iPads.

They will go to Doodle Buddy.

The first thing we will do is draw a line on the screen for our line plot.

Then we will come up with a title for our line plot.

We will then label our measurements across the bottom

We will put our key in the bottom corner X=1

Now we will figure out how many Xs (measurements) go with each


measurement and we will place the Xs on our plot.

Then we will take a screenshot of their line plot.

We will sign in to Google Drive.

We will upload their picture into their Google Folder.

Students will sign out of Google Drive.

I will collect their folders and they will return their iPads.

Students will clean up materials and line up.
