Itisimportantforstudentstounderstanddeforestationbecauseforestsandbiodiversityiskeytoalllife
forms.Thericherthediversityoflife,thegreatertheopportunityformedicaldiscoveries,economic
development,andadaptiveresponsestosuchnewchallengesasclimatechange.
OBJECTIVES

SWBATexplainanddefendtheirviewondeforestationandidentifypossiblesolutionstoprevent
deforestation.

ASSESSMENT/EVALUATION
Thiswillassessstudentunderstandingofdeforestation,itsimpact,theirpositionondeforestationandhow
theypersonallycanimpactthisissue.Studentswillbeabletocomprehendwhatenvironmentalrisksare
causedbyhumaninteraction.Studentswilllearnwhatdeforestationmeansthroughimagesinapowerpoint.
Theywillcollaborateingroupstoanswersquestionsonavideo.Studentswillthanhaveaclassdiscussionon
statementstheyagree/disagreewithpertainingdeforestation.Allinall,theywilldiscussasawholegroup
aftereveryactivitysotheygetadeeperunderstandingofdifferentviewsandperspectivesonthis
environmentalissue.
