Stating the Hypothesis

H0: 1=2=0
H1: Atleast one of the slopes are not zero
=0.05
F value = 64.0487
The P-value is less than the alpha so we reject the null hypothesis. The model is significant
B.

T statistic for each individual explanatory variable

H0: file size= 0

H1: file size 0

= 0.05
Degrees of freedom= 80-2-1= 77
Test statistic = 1.8
P-value = 0.0757 > =0.05
We fail reject the null hypothesis. So file size is not important in the regression
model

Hours past
H0: hours past 8 = 0

H0: hours past 8 0

= 0.05
Degrees of freedom= 80-2-1= 77
Test statistic = -0.06
P-value= 0.9533
The P-value is greater than the alpha so we fail reject the null hypothesis .

So hours past is not

important.

C. The VIF for file size and hours past 8 is 42.19. The values are very high. It should
have been less than 10

d. The individual t test for explanatory variables shows that they not are significant
in the model on contrary the F test value is significant. The VIF value is also very
high.. This explains the paradoxical results of collinearity.
e. The use of Sample Random may help.
